Best for

All skin types, tones and ages, particularly dry or dehydrated.

Key benefits

  • Bio-hacks our skin cells to boost and support its own cellular Hyaluronic acid (HA)
production rather than just supplying HA as an ingredient.
  • OSKIA’s own Biomimetic Hydra Complex is comprised of 16 synergistic actives and
amino acids that work towards a three-pronged approach to boosting hydration:
    - Provide the building blocks to produce HA.
    - Prevent HA degradation by anti-hyaluronidase activity.
    - Stimulate HA synthesis.
  • Infuses instant hydration.
  • Re-mineralizes.
  • Strengthens the skin’s mantle & Lipid Barrier and NMF to reduce TEWL.
  • Strengthens skin mirco-flora.
  • Calms and prevents hyper-reactivity.

Key actives

Our own Biomimetic Hydra Complex (comprising 16 synergistic actives and amino acids) provides the building blocks for Hyaluronic Acid manufacture, reduces the natural hyaluronic acid destruction
caused by enzymes, and supports cellular Hyaluronic Acid synthesis for long term comfort.

Hyaluronic & Polyglutamic Acids, plus Glycerin plump and provide instant hydration to
quench thirsty skin.

Electrolytes recharge, balance and infuse water
into the skin. We have used electrolytes to ensure the balance of water within the skin cells is correct
and optimal. The minerals calcium, potassium and magnesium are linked with the PCA (pyrrolidone carboxylic acid). This naturally-occurring process plays a vital role in the pathways and balance of cellular hydration, but also helps transport key nutrients and chemicals such as ceramides.

Encapsulated Glacier Water cools and provides 24hr hydration.

Niacinamide supports the skin’s own ceramide
production to strengthen skin’s mantle and stimulates production of collagen
and fibroblasts to benefit structure and suppleness. Also balances skin tone.

Pro-Vitamin B5 stimulates cellular proliferation and
helps tissue repair. Protects skin against sunburn and aids hydration. Offers long lasting moisturisation and soothes irritated skin. It helps to improve the skin's barrier function and promotes healing.

PentaPeptide P5, Bisabolol, MSM & Horse Chestnut work in synergy to significantly calm.

Oat Ceramides – repair the lipid barrier to prevent
water loss, soothe and calm.

Isotonic Hydra Serum with Lavender

FAQs

What does Isotonic mean?

‘Isotonic’ means that the osmotic pressure of a solution inside and outside the cell is equal, that hydration inside and outside the cell is balanced. This is vital to prevent cell damage. This equal pressure also means that active ingredients and molecules are able to pass through (by osmosis) easily without causing harm. Too much hydration inside the cell (Hypotonic) will cause the cells to swell; too little inside the cell will cause it to shrink. Both lead to cellular damage. The use of electrolytes ensure that this solution is isotonic.

What is Bio-Hacking?

We have always worked to improve the skin’s cellular functions and processes and have always used ingredients that make the skin work more efficiently. In terms of hydration, we have looked at the chemical reactions and processes in the skin’s own synthesis of its cellular Hyaluronic Acid (HA), so rather than just providing HA in this formula we have produced our own complex called Biomimetic Hydra Complex that uses a blend of 16 actives that work synergistically to support and boost hyaluronic acid synthesis as well providing the building blocks of Hyaluronic Acid itself. We see this is a much more longterm approach to improving skin health as well as providing an immediate thirst quenching and calming effect.
