Rule 1: Apply from thinnest to thickest
Start with lightweight, water-based products and build up to richer creams so each layer can absorb properly.
Rule 2: Finish with facial oil
Facial oils should always be your final step, helping to seal in moisture and lock in the benefits of everything underneath.
Think of it like getting dressed — lightweight pieces first, heavier layers last.

How Long Should You Wait Between Products?
As a general guideline 60–90 seconds between layers is enough. Allow strong actives (like retinol) to absorb before moisturising and give SPF a few minutes to set before applying makeup.
Common Layering Mistakes
- Applying oil before serum (blocks absorption)
- Using too many active ingredients at once
- Skipping SPF
- Over-exfoliating
- Layering products with conflicting actives
