OSKIA Spa Of The Month April 2026: OSKIA x The Spa at the Imperial Hotel, Kyoto

This month, we are delighted to celebrate a new partnership with The Spa at the Imperial Hotel, Kyoto.

The Imperial Hotel was founded in Tokyo in 1890, serving as Japan’s state guesthouse and welcoming distinguished visitors from around the world. Over the decades, it has hosted many notable figures, including Marilyn Monroe, who stayed during her honeymoon in 1954.

The Imperial Hotel, Kyoto, marking the brand’s first new opening in 30years, also carries a remarkable legacy. Originally built in 1936 as the Yasaka Kaikan theatre, it has long been a cultural landmark in the historic Gion district, now thoughtfully reimagined as a refined, 55-room retreat.

Guided by a philosophy of ‘Old is New,’ by architect Mr. Sakakida of the New Material Research Laboratory, who led the interior design, the space honours the inheritance of time and memory while harmonising between past and present, and celebrates materials and craftsmanship that tell a story.

This philosophy extends into a deeply sensory design approach, where the five elements of Buddist thought— void, wind, fire, water and earth — are expressed through the space to engage all five senses. From the gentle scent of natural wood to the quiet tactility of materials that regulate light, air and humidity, each detail has been thoughtfully considered to create an atmosphere that is not only seen, but truly felt.

Nestled within the hotel’s wellness floor, the spa has been conceived as an immersive journey for the senses. It encompasses a pool, fitness studio, thermal bathing facilities and treatment rooms, each element working in quiet harmony to restore balance.

There is a sense of calm personalisation in every detail — from the considered consultation process to the tranquil relaxation spaces that invite you to pause, breathe and reconnect. Beyond the treatment room, guests are encouraged to embrace the full wellness journey. Thermal bathing, mindful movement and moments of stillness all play a role in enhancing both skin health and overall wellbeing.

Their treatment menu has a selection of OSKIA’s Signature Treatments including:

·       OSKIA SIGNATURE FACIAL – 75 min

·       OSKIA CITYLIFE ESCAPE CRYO LIFTING FACIAL - 75 min

·       OSKIA VITAMIN GLOW ON THE GO FACIAL - 30 min

·       IMPERIAL EXPERIENCE 150 min (ritual for face and body including full body scrub, body massage and cryo-lifting facial)

·     BIO-NUTRITION RITUAL 90/120 min (90 minutes includes body and 30-minute facial. 120 minutes includes an extended 60-minute signature facial).
