EUK 134 - A remarkable self-regenerating Manganese molecule that combines destructive rogue Hydrogen & Oxygen free-radicals and turns them into H2O. It protects against toxic effects of free radicals by mimicking superoxide dismutase (SOD) and catalase activities. It scavenges Superoxide free radicals, eliminates Hydrogen Peroxide (H2 O2) and transforms ROS into water and Oxygen. Regenerates itself for 24-hour protection. Also prevents the formation of UV induced TT Dimer and Peroxide Lipids, which can also have a beneficial effect against UV induced cellular damage. SODIUM ASCORBYL PHOSPHATE (VIT C) - Extreme anti-oxidant capacity and well-documented skin health benefits. Has skin firming properties due to fibroblast generation, which reduces skin permeability. Chelates heavy metals to prevent absorption.
NIACINAMIDE (VIT B3) - Increases production of ceramides, barrier proteins and their precursors (keratin, involucrin, laggrin), leading to improved barrier function and pore reduction preventing PM (Particulate Matter) from absorbing through the epidermis. This is a highly concentrated product and must be blended before application. Do not apply neat. Do not exceed the suggested dose.

Is an anti-oxidant product the same as an anti-pollution product?
Just using an anti-oxidant isn’t going to cut the mustard in the case of pollution. Pollution is far more than just free-radicals. Anti-oxidants will only help protect against the different types of free-radicals which are produced both naturally and by man (industry, car exhausts, fire retardants, air conditioning, cleaning products, open fires, cooking). What anti-oxidants can’t protect against are the other major skin damaging pollutants such as ozone and PM (particulate matter - tiny pieces of material produced by human activity that are below the size of 2 microns (μm) which are small enough to pass through the skin’s pores and cause DNA damage, inflammation, collagen degradation and pigmentation). These require specialist actives. For example our CityLife Booster is clinically-proven to protect against up to 97.7% of Singlet Oxygen, Peroxyl, Hydroxyl & Halogenated Free Radicals, but it also contains a range of actives each chosen to target the individual pollutants we come across on a daily basis. For example, as Camellia Japonica reduces heavy metal-induced oxidative stress, protects against arsenic, cadmium, lead, nickel (found in Particulate Matter PM & VOCs). It also increases dermal density to firm and reduce fine lines, increasing hydration and reduces inflammation, which are added bonuses. Another example is SMITHSONITE which chelates heavy metals found in VOCs and PM, making them into larger particle sizes that are then too big to penetrate through the skin's pores. To us chelating particles is far better than using film formers in products that just sit on the skin as a barrier as they will ultimately pill if you are laying products and makeup. Smithsonite also has a wonderful anti-glycation effect. Our CityLife Booster is proven to protect against 98% of PM 1 μm.
It is also really important to state here that just because a product contains an anti-oxidant ingredient, it doesn't mean that the product itself will have anti-oxidant activity. Anti-oxidants are complicated and volatile and more often than not become pro-oxidant when unstable, Vitamin C being the classic example. Therefore, always choose a product that has proven anti-oxidant properties rather than a product that just contains anti-oxidants. Your skin will thank you for it.
