A guide to layering your skincare

Have you ever wondered if your skin is making the most out of your everyday skincare routine? OSKIA’s Head Therapist and skincare expert Holly Webster recommends layering products for optimum performance, so she’s helped us put together a step-by-step guide on how to reap maximum benefits from your skincare staples for a happy, and most importantly healthy, complexion.

DAILY

Step 1: Cleanser

Cleansing is an essential first-step, both morning and night. Cleanse in the morning to remove any oils released over night and to perk up your skin before makeup application. Follow up with a double cleanse every evening, firstly to remove sunscreen, makeup and impurities, and secondly to treat the skin.

Try our Renaissance Cleansing Gel or Perfect Cleanser

Step 2: Eye serum

Serums should form the base layer of your skincare routines post-cleansing and/or exfoliating. Start by using both ring fingers to apply a thin layer of eye serum to the entire eye area from temple to temple, both morning and night.

Try our Eye Wonder

Step 3: Serum

Next, massage your favourite serum into your face, neck and décolleté until absorbed both morning and night.

Try our Get Up & Glow or Super 16

Step 4: Moisturise

Follow up with a moisturiser morning and night to keep the skin deeply hydrated.

Try our Nutri-Active Day Cream or Bedtime Beauty Boost

Step 5: Apply a facial oil

Finally, add a couple of drops of facial oil to lock in hydration. You may choose to treat your skin to an oil either every day, or a couple of times a week.

Try our Restoration Oil

Step 6. Apply your SPF.

WEEKLY

Exfoliate/Apply a mask 1-2 times a week

Add a weekly treatment to your routine, whether it be exfoliating to gently buff away dead skin cells and impurities or applying a mask to deeply cleanse, boost radiance and tackle ageing concerns. Weekly treatments with exfoliating and resurfacing properties will help your skincare products to absorb better and allow makeup to sit flawlessly on the skin.
We recommend pampering your skin with a treatment once a week, or twice a week for dry or mature skin types. Don’t be afraid to alternate between treatments if you would like to mix things a bit. Always apply post-cleanse and before your choice of serum.

Try our Micro-Exfoliating Balm or Renaissance Mask
