LIGHT AT THE END OF THE TUNNEL.

I have been travelling here, there and everywhere recently. I have noticed that I don't sleep well in hotels and with events to go to, I need to be able to trust good products to give me the glow of eight hours sleep. I read lost about cheat-sleep products and have found most of them to be empty hype, but then I came across OSKIA's Get Up and Glow. I became a fan of OSKIA when I discovered the Renaissance Mask during winter months, which is fantastic.

Get Up and Glow has the most delicious, iridescent colour to brighten any complexion. I find it works really well as a foundation primer. But I have alos found, using this product, I need less foundation. With Hyaluronic Acid it really replenishes the skin of lost moisture. Finally, Butterbur reduces redness and irritation, which is most welcome on my still-healing face following my bike accident. It has become my favourite travelling companion.

I shouldn't really run with a post on a late-night whim but I was totally sucked in by the pretty visual in this newsletter mail out from Bristish skincare brand, OSKIA. Look!

The 45 minute facial costs £45 but is fully redeemable against any OSKIA products purchased on the day. I thought it might be of interest to some of you London ladies!

Oskia Eye Wonder Serum £58 for 15ml
"For me, this is Oskia’s star product: as someone that suffers from severe bags I have tried endless products which never made a difference so can assure you that this actually does work; Applied in the morning, within a few minutes this definitely reduced my under-eye baggage! It’s a rosewater based serum, so is not at all greasy and can be used alone or prior to your eye cream. Like the face cream, this has a light, barely-there scent and contains Oskia’s trademark MSM (Methyl Sulphonyl Methane
) to aid collagen production, Glycerin and Sodium Hyaluronate to hydrate and a host of other ingredients to reduce puffiness, dark circles and pigmentation. Perfect for those mornings-after-the-night-before! For more details click here"

Oskia Renaissance Mask

"I'm already a fan of Oskia Cleansing Balm, and this mask is also an absolute joy to use. Passionfruit and Papaya enzymes whisk away old cells to reveal a fresher, more glowy complexion. I didn't get any of the familiar sting that comes with energetic enzyme treatments and my skin looked infinitely more lively post mask. The texture is gorgeous - a silky balm, the smell is beautiful (roses) and the whole package is one I'd be happy to treat my skin to on a regular basis, even at £48."

OSKIA

"Fresh out of London and just over a year old, Oskia is a skincare range I’ve fallen head over heels for. The word ‘Oskia’ derives from the ancient Greek and means ‘delivering nutrients’ and ‘beauty’ – and my word how their entire range does. Most importantly, though, their products really work. Add to that their elegant packaging and this gentle, natural range stands head and shoulders above the rest, leaving the Big Guns of the mainstream cosmetic world for dust.

I’ll be reviewing their luscious moisturising range in my next skincare article, but wanted to recommend their ‘Rose de Mai Massage Candle’ here (£34.50 for 200g) – highly recommend it. As a recent attendee of a Tantra workshop, all I’ll say is this candle – made from beeswax, soybean, and coconut oil, and lightly scented with perfume from the May Rose – is just the ticket for lovingly lavishing on oneself or dripping and massaging onto a loved one. Silky, sensuous, and downright classy, this candle is, without a shadow of a doubt, sure to impress. A modern classic. www.oskia.com"

OSKIA Micro-Exfoliating Balm.

" This is easily one of the most lovely exfoliators I've ever used thanks to the balm formula. It feels ultra-gentle but gives a thorough buffing that leaves skin gleaming. Containing MSM, prebiotics, omegas, Vitamin E, rosehip and sweet almond oil, it also replenishes the lipid barrier ensuring that there is never any tautness or 'stretched' feeling afterwards. MSM is Oskia's secret ingredient; a natural form of sulphur that is crucial to regeneration of cells and is often taken as a food supplement. "

HOW I GET GLOWING SKIN

"I have a few products that you could put on as a base, not necessarily as a primer but instead of a moisturiser, or just after the moisturiser. The OSKIA Get Up & Glow, very, very nice and leaves a pearlised effect, very sheer and light and gives a very subtle glistening effect."

We've tested the new OSKIA Renaissance Mask that's packed with natural fruit acids to whisk away old and tired cells and give your skin an instant brightening effect. "Mrs Glamourpuss is a woman of experience-which is to say she is not young. Vibrant? Absolutley. Interesting? Without a doubt. Personality is her forte. But even the most delightful personality needs trusted beauty products. A littler tender care goes a long way- and no woman really wants to look like Keith Richards. Regardless of how interesting he may be.At the recent and rather thrilling Buy My Wardrobe Event, special guests like myself were given rather lovely goody bags.A range of samples from OSKIA were included. In all honesty, I have not tried them all. But the Get Up & Glow has made a distinct impression. Described as a radiance, energy and protection booster, Get Up&Glow can be worn under moisturiser or over your makeup. Such a flexible product is a godsend for busy mornings when it's easy to get things in the wrong order. If you miss the clean face step, just pop it on after you're done. Better yet, dab it on your face at 3.30pm in the afternoon following the worst meeting of your life. You'll look refereshed, and ready for the next round.Get Up & Glow made my skin look brighter and feel slightly firmer to the touch. Which is not to say that in any way Mrs Glamourpuss' skin sags. Perish the thought. I also felt my foundation went on more smoothly, making my leaving-the-house-for-an-important-meeting face a bit more polished. A little time on OSKIA's site also made me realise how much effort goes into creating natural products. I liked the focus on nourishing and protecting the skin. This is a thoughful product that's been developed to solve a particular problem- tired, dull-looking skin.Like most women I just want to look better than I do. Seeming younger isn't that important to me. What's done is done. We must march forward."

"OSKIA was my skincare find of 2010- I came across it via a promotional Love Lula email where I would receive some samples with an order, and my interest was piqued.

British Beauty Blogger did a review of the Perfect Cleanser, Lisa Eldridge used the Get up and Glow in her first ever video, and Comestic Candy did a review of the Micro Exfoliating Balm and the Beauty Boost Night cream.

The samples I received were generous and gave me a good 2 weeks worth. The OSKIA website had a promotional discount offer with the first order that afforded me another 2 weeks worth of samples, as well as the full sized product I ordered (Perfect Cleanser) and I was hooked.

I love the fact that this is a British Brand, and I love the fact that the ingredients are carefully sourced and have to earn their reason for inclusion.

The USP of the brand is the use of MSM as an ingredient which is a form of Sulphur. I have been using the whole range on and off since mid-last Autumn, and feel that I am now able to give a full review.

What I like about the range is that it is instantly calming for my reactive oily skin. I absolutley love the textures and easily absrobed but rich feel and comforting on my skin."

GENTLEMEN'S GOODS- SHOPPING ADVICE AND REVIEWS FOR TODAY'S MODERN MAN
PUT TO THE TEST: OSKIA RENAISSANCE MASK FACE MASK .

29th November 2010 by Mr Fotheringham

"As more and more men discover the benefits of skincare and beauty treatments, one can't help but think that some manufacturers are taking advantage of this new target audience by packaging up their regular female product in a grey bottle or tube and adding the words For Men and premium to the price.Quite why it is felt that men would prefer to buy their lotions and potions in grey containers is beyond me but you only have to take a look at the male grooming section of most retailers to know who the culprits are.Contrary to what alot of manufacturers will admit to telling you, the products that women have been using for decades are as suitable for men as they are women; so just because it doesn't say For Men on the outside, doesn't mean we mean can't use them too.OSKIA produce a range of products that are as good for men as they are women and even better for your skin. Their range is nutritionally-designed by a team of nutritionists and cosmetic scientists to provide the essential cell nutrients your skin requires to function properly, and rebuild cell health, and they believe that ingredients should only be used if they are scientifically proven to work and not simply for their organic or natural status.OSKIA Renaissance Mask is part of their Skinsense range which is aimed at men and women in their mid-twenties to late forties. It contains a host of natural ingredients however the key ingredient is MSM-Regen Complex- the most bio-available form of sulphur which provides your body with the natural materials it needs to make collagen and elastin itself-aiding cell regeneration and giving you healthy, supple skin. The first thing you'll notice when you open it is the smell, it's fruity, very fruity! So fruity in fact that the first thing I did was stick my finger in and tasted it, not something I'd recommend you do but I couldn't help myself!Application is straight forward enough, apply a thin layer to clean skin and leave it for 10 to 15 minutes before washing off with warm water. The mask is a peachy pink colour but once you've massaged it onto your face it turns white, this allows you to check that you've not missed a spot. I've been using the mask once a week, however, it's suggested that you use it no more than twice a week, more than this and I doubt your skin will absorb the nutrients contained.Even after just one application the first thing you notice is how smooth it leaves your skin feeling and after just a few uses I actually noticed myself how bright my skin was becoming, this was reinforced by friends and colleagues who also commented on how good my complexion has become since I started using it. Priced at £48.50 the OSKIA Renaissance Mask may seem expensive but a little goes a long way and anything that provokes unsolicitated compliments has got to be value for money in my book.OSKIA also offer, in partnershop with Blossom&Jasmine, a range of beauty treatments in your own home or office which include The Gentlemen's Face Saver, a 45 minute treatment with emphasis on the eye area. Currently only available within London, it's priced at a very reasonable £65.You can purchase OSKIA products directly from www.oskiaskincare.com or exclusively from Liberty in the UK or worldwide from Quintessentially.com".

Beauty Love- OSKIA Perfect Cleanser , £38.50 Liberty. I like to use this product every once in a while. Perhaps savouring the goodness of the Perfect Cleanser??Its delightful clean packaging and easy to use pump only adds to the greatness of 'Perfect Cleanser'. It smells lovely, it's not too heavily scented, but enough to remember it's lovely sweet smell! The cleanser itself is great. It pumps out as a balm and once on the skin and mixed with water it turns into a milk like consistency that cleanses your skin. The balm like effect leaves your skin feeling youthfully nourished & moisturised!!I don't use this as my everyday cleanser, however when I do use it, it feels amazing and can definitley see my usage upped over the next few months of (skin drying out) weather!!With its reasonable price point we suggest you go to Liberty and invest! Treat yourselves to a cream tea whilst you're at it :)"

"Okay, so everyone is dishing out awards right now, so I thought I’d join the party with a few of my own. Everything here is stuff I use, love and would purchase over and over. I see literally hundreds of beauty products every year so picking one for each category was a really tough call (well, as you’ll see, in some cases it just couldn’t be done). And, with no advertisers to keep happy, no swanky dinner to attend and no, uh, actual real gongs, statues or prizes either (sorry about that!), you can be assured if a sunshiney BBB Winner Button is awarded, it is because the product stands on its own merit entirely. I haven’t added prices, stockists or links to purchase, because the way I see it is it’s my job to tell not sell.

"Right, I’m going to put the not-so-good news out there first so there’s no anti-climax; this Renaissance Mask by Oskia is priced at £48.50 for 50ml. There I’ve said it! But….it is amaaaaazing! This is the first product I have tried by Oskia and has only served to whet my appetite. I know that the price may put a lot of people off but you really, really do not need to use a lot of this product. In fact, the smell alone will sell it to you (passionfruit, rose and chamomile – mmm!).As you can see from the pic, the slightly textured mask is peachy but once you have massaged it into your skin, it turns white. If it doesn’t turn white then you haven’t massaged it in enough. This mask claims to re-surface, exfoliate, brighten, smooth, deep cleanses, reduces pore appearance and it does all those things. Unlike other re-surfacing masks I have tried, this mask doesn’t make my skin tingle or irritate it. I didn’t have a breakout of spots in the days after use and my skin looked radiant. In fact, I look like I have had a facial.A completely indulgent mask that has made my skin feel brand-spanking-new!"

"PERFECT CLEANSER If you love a face balm, this will be your trip to skin heaven. It’s easily one of the best balms I’ve ever come across; a fluid, light balm that literally floats over the skin, wiping away every last bit of grime. In fact, you just want to massage and massage and massage...which any way you look at it is good! The feel of it is intensly silky and cloud-soft and it slips around the skin in a way that heavier balms can't do. It smells lightly floral/herbal and contains collagen boosting properties, Zinc, Vitamin A and E, Omega 3 and 6, and Prebiotics. Amazingly lovely. £38.50. Oskia is a Brit brand that takes a nutritional and scientific approach to anti-ageing by supplying the skin with cell nutrients from the inside (supplements) as well as the outside. It's USP is MSM (Methyl Sulphonyl Methane), commonly used in joint supplements; a form of sulphur that is a collegen and elastin builder.I've also just noticed a £15 off your first order on their website so if you're going to splurge, now's the time. http://www.oskiaskincare.com".

THE BEST ONLINE BEAUTY BOUTIQUES by Katy Young"oskiaskincare.com
This one is hot off the press and newly launched. Inspired by the miraculous recovery she made after using MSM supplements (developed by her father's company) for damaged cartilage - as well as a dramatic improvement on her eczema - Georgie Cleeve has developed an entire skincare range around MSM.
Behind this range of great glow-giving, anti-ageing creams, serums and supplements is more than a list of clever ingredients; Cleeve is fascinated with how, with the right ingredients, the body and skin can repair itself fast, so her beauty philosophy is all about beauty from the inside out.
This isn't just a site to stock up on skincare - you can expect weekly healthy skin recipes by celebrity chef Thomasina Miers, ideas for going green, and a weighty - and up-to-date - natural and synthetic ingredient glossary which is genius for anyone with a beauty conscience."

INTRODUCING OSKIA - SERVING UP SERIOUS SKIN FOOD...Methyl Sulphanyl Methane, or MSM, may now be as ubiquitous a supplement as Cod Liver Oil, but 15 years ago no-one in the UK had heard of it, nor of the positive impact it could have on joint health. Numerous studies later, we now know that MSM’s benefits are myriad – and that this most concentrated and bio-available form of sulphur is also crucial to cell function and collagen production, which allows the skin to remain supple, regenerate itself and stave off premature ageing. It comes as no surprise then that it’s been labelled the ‘Beauty Mineral’ by those in the know – and Georgie Cleeve (who just happens to be the daughter of the man who first imported MSM to our shores), has made it the core component of her beauty line, OSKIA. Drawing on familial expertise – and her years of experience as a Food Editor at Condé Nast’s House & Garden Magazine – Cleeve set about developing a line that blends both a nutritional and scientific approach to skincare, and also reflects her passion for natural and organic ingredients. The result is not only 98% natural – it is also the fruit of four years’ research with a crack team of scientists, nutritionists and skin experts, to ensure that each and every product is as ‘active’ and efficacious as possible. This vision – to encompass the all-natural with the cutting-edge – is fittingly translated into a focused, capsule collection of targeted treatments that that work in synergy with one another, and with one’s own skin. Alongside the high-potency MSM supplement in the range, there is also the Oskia Bedtime Beauty Boost, £74 for 50ml, which is a deliciously decadent cream rich in regenerative vitamins A and B3, to the Eye Wonder Nutri-Active Eye Serum, £58 for 15ml, which employs a unique Arnica & Laminaria Complex to target under-eye discolouration. The line delivers on another front too: the brand’s name is taken from the ancient Greek word for ‘delivering beauty’, and this new line makes good on its eponymous promise – from the pleasing packaging all the way through to the detailed ingredient lists than can be found on the back of each and every pioneering product.Emine Ali Rushton

London is one stressful city, and the effects of a frantic lifestyle often end up being reflected in your skin. In a bid to look gorgeous and glow 24/7, I know impossible without help, a healthy diet and supplements are a must. The new brand on the block, unites cutting edge science and nature to offer a skincare range dedicated to rebuilding cell health and targeting the first signs of premature aging.
Derived from the ancient Greek word for “delivering beauty,” Oskia is looking at ingredients closely to deliver optimum results. All their products contain the magic MSM-Regen Complex™, a special sulphur mineral with natural collagen boosting and regenerating cells formula that has been scientifically proven to work. They include supplements in the range.
Exclusive to Liberty, and the one that’s flying of shelves is Get Up & Glow, £64.50, an instant revitalizing and energising serum that visibly brightens skin after one application. Already receiving rave reviews and being compared to the Eve Lom serum; this is definitely one to watch. I have only tried it on the back of my hand, so will need to keep you posted on this one myself.

We're excited about the launch of OskiaYou may have already seen all over Sunday's papers but we're all very excited about the launch of the new wonder skin care range from Oskia in Liberty today...
The best thing about Oskia is that it has the luxury feel we all want but is also ridiculously good for your skin. Their range is full of cutting edge, natural ingredients that feed and condition the skin including the supplement everyone's talking about - MSM. Handpicked were lucky enough to be sent a press sample and we've been fighting over it for the last month. So for the sake of office relations, thank goodness we can now all go and get our own.
Read more at www.oskiaskincare.com or get down to Liberty on Regent Street, London to see the range.

RUNNING IN HEELS8 January, 2010.I felt glamorous as soon as set eyes on the crisp white packaging of OSKIA Beauty Boost skincare. When opened, the box reveals a deep purple interior with a heavy glass pot inside that was positively singing ‘quality’. But beauty isn’t only box deep – so I resolved to get testing!OSKIA’s Bedtime Beauty Boost is designed to prevent signs of aging and give you a healthy complexion. OSKIA recommend using the night cream in conjunction with their MSM tablets for the fullest effect, as the tablets nourish you from the inside whilst the topical cream works on the upper layers of the skin. The good people at OSKIA reassure us that their products are “nutritionally-designed” and combine cutting edge science with quality natural ingredients that are proven to work. The company’s founder, Georgie, is also dedicated to honesty in terms of pricing, at the same time as being the first premium skincare brand to utilise MSM as an anti-ageing active ingredient. The theory of night cream is that the skin loses significant amounts of moisture whilst you’re sleeping. Night creams are often a little heavier than day creams, as they repair the skin at a deeper level whilst a day cream focuses on hydration and protection from UV rays. Research has shown that your skin ticks along at different paces like your body clock. When the sun is up, you skin directs its energies at protecting you from stress, be it environmental or psychological. In the quiet of the night, however, skin cells repair themselves after damage sustained during the day. So whilst you’re sleeping away, your skin can regenerate itself by accessing the nutrients, minerals and antioxidants from your night cream. The OSKIA night cream feels a little sticky when first applied, but the skin quickly drinks it up to leave my face feeling silky and moisturised. On my fingers, the texture is much like thick crème fraîche, and as I rub the cream in it begins to feel like good quality Shea butter. I massage the night cream into my face; starting with the cheeks, around the eyes, swooping down to the chin, and then moving up to the forehead before massaging down around my neck. This in itself feels good. I very rarely give myself a face massage, and I can feel my face muscles relaxing as they lap up a little bit of extra attention. All these years I’ve been craving back rubs and shoulder massages – when really it was only a little bit of face love I was looking for.The cream contains eleven beauty-boosting active ingredients – but it’s the gentle smell of rose hip oil that lingers on my skin. Vitamins E and B3, Omegas-3, 6 and 9, and Swiss apple stem cells (to help repair the skin’s own DNA) are also nestled away in the cream working away to rejuvenate and repair tired and under nourished skin.Pure MSM: Nutritional SkincareWhen I wake in the morning, I can only describe my skin as deeply soft. It wasn’t that sort of softness you get that runs off you as soon as you get in the shower; it was a milky softness I could feel down through my facial muscles, and that stayed with me for the early part of the day. I even found myself considering not using my regular day moisturiser in the morning!OSKIA have also developed a signature nutritional food supplement which improves complexion as well as making hair and nails stronger. The tablets provide 1000mg of MSM, when taken with food, and they are suitable for vegans and coeliacs too. MSM (or methylsulfonylmethane as the scientists call it) is a natural source of sulphur, which is known to improve skin health. Sulphur occurs naturally in some mineral water springs, which is why people have ‘taken the waters’ for generations in an effort to improve their health. Sulphur, is also structurally and functionally important to 150 bodily compounds, including amino acids, collagen and elastin; which is why it’s great for your skin. You may not have realised you were running low on sulphur, but once you’ve taken these supplements for a week or two you’ll wonder how you lived without it.The only draw back I could see with this regime is the weight of the glass containers. When I went away for a long weekend, I could justify decanting a few of the MSM tablets into a pot, but the cream stayed at home. This packaging clearly isn’t meant for the jet set. I found the cream made my lips tingle when I applied it a little too enthusiastically – so watch out for that. The MSM tablets are also pretty big, so those people with an aversion to large pills may not be able to swallow them.Overall, however, this is a luxurious and effective night care range. Not only will you look great using these products, but you can feel great too. OSKIA is a British skin care range that contains 98% natural or nature-identical ingredients; and the 2% ‘non-natural’ are Ecocert and Soil Association approved preservatives. All products are free from artificial chemicals, fragrances, preservatives and other nasties – and it turns out their packaging is made from stone not trees! Just like its skin care range, OSKIA’s packaging is innovative from the inside and out.OSKIA derives its name from the ancient Greek for “delivering beauty” – from what I can see it delivers results too.
