Make your detox that little bit easier come January, or simply help your body prepare for the occasional overindulgence and late nights that tend to go hand in hand with the holiday season by opting for a pretox. There’s no time like the present to start a pretox so that you sail through the festive season looking and feeling your absolute best. Just make sure you read this first…


Eat clean. Up your 5 a day intake to feed your body with those vital vitamins and minerals, boost your immune system and keep skin looking radiant. Opt for plenty of green veggies and omega-rich foods such as salmon, walnuts and spinach. Foods like asparagus and artichoke hearts are also particularly good for supporting healthy liver function to prepare your body if you’ll be indulging in a few Christmas cocktails.


Stay hydrated
. Hydration is not only key for good overall health but also for keeping your complexion supple, healthy and glowing. Make sure to drink at least 2 litres per day and try to avoid caffeinated drinks. We also recommend starting the day with a cup of hot water & lemon to help alkalise the body and neutralise acids caused by alcohol and unhealthy food.

Get plenty of sleep. Late nights topped off with a few too many drinks not only zaps energy levels and leaves you feeling lethargic the morning after but can also leave your complexion dull and dehydrated. The majority of cell turnover and skin regeneration happens while we sleep, so aim for at least 8 hours a night to give your body much needed time to recuperate and ensure you awake feeling rested and energised.

Allow time for your skincare routine, and also make sure you remove all your makeup every night, regardless of what time you make it home and how early your alarm is set for the next morning. The skin is our largest organ and requires at the very least a basic routine including a cleanser, serum and moisturiser twice a day. Add in an exfoliator to shed dead skin cells plus a brightening mask once a week and you’re all set!

Last but not least, exercise. Nothing clears your head like a brisk walk or a jog in the park. Experts suggest a minimum of 30 minutes exercise per day to get your blood pumping and endorphins flowing whilst working off the calorie-laden cocktails or wine you may have indulged on the night before.
