Bakuchiol

Bakuchiol, a natural alternative to Retinol, is a meroterpene phenol derived from Indian Psoralea corylifolia (Babchi) leaves and seeds. Chinese and Indian medical practitioners have utilised Backuchiol for centuries to help heal cuts, soothe rashes and calm redness. It has since been discovered that Bakuchiol has a wide range of anti-ageing benefits, and is additionally a brilliant treatment for skin conditions such as acne due to its anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial properties.

Studies show that the use of Bakuchiol in skincare products has a positive effect on two of the most vital skin proteins – collagen and elastin. This results in a significant improvement in the reduction of fine lines and wrinkles, and increased elasticity and skin firmness through boosting and regulating types I, II and IV collagen. Bakuchiol has also been proven to supress the effects of melanin-producing cells, resulting in a reduction of the appearance of age spots and pigmentation. The Bakuchiol in the OSKIA Super 16 has been clinically compared in trials to Retinol with outstanding results, but without the usual Retinol-associated side effects such as sensitivity.

Where to find it:
Bakuchiol can be found in our Super 16 Anti-Ageing Serum. This product is a dynamic fusion of 16 super nutrients and bio-actives designed to increase collagen synthesis, lift and firm the skin and reduce fine lines whilst providing high-level hydration and anti-oxidant protection.
